Hi, my name’s Heather and I’m studying Level 4 Makeup Artistry at Servilles Academy.
What do you love about makeup?
My love for makeup started when I was really young. My most loved aspect about makeup is probably that it’s so creative and there are no rules – you can literally do whatever you want and anything goes.
What’s your favourite thing about the academy?
My favourite thing about the academy is the tutors. We’ve had three tutors for our course and it’s been amazing to have all their different experiences kind of come together and we’ve picked up so many skills from them.
Are there any skills you’ve learnt that you didn’t think you’d be able to achieve?
So, I didn’t know anything about spray tanning, or lash and brow tinting or even lash extensions before I started the course. We got to all of those in our course and it was really really fun.
What are some of the best opportunities you’ve had whilst studying here?
Um, so the best opportunities I’ve been given have been a lot of the work experience we got to do. So we’ve done; shows, we’ve done fashion shows, we’ve done photoshoots, we’ve done weddings, we’ve done everything – it’s been awesome.
Where do you see yourself after graduation?
I’m going to be working at MAC in Auckland Airport, so it’ll be really exciting to take what I’ve learnt through Servilles and then get to grow within the company.
