The Best Hair & Makeup Looks from 2020 VMAs
The 90s were back in full force at this year’s MTV Video Music Awards! Due to social distancing rules, the awards were held in a very different format from what we’re used to but that didn’t stop the stars wowing us with their glammed-up, highly-90s inspired getups. Take a peep at some of our favourite looks from the night below…
As this year’s host, Keke Palmer, brought out all the stops for her multitude of looks throughout the evening. From her superlong pony to her glittering neon eyeshadow to her 90s-esque updo – we’re totally here for it all! Keke worked with makeup artist Mimi Kamara and hairstylist Ann Jones for her variety of ‘fits.
Gaga goes grey! Rocking a number of futuristic outfits and hairstyles throughout her appearances at the VMAs, Gaga kept things cool with her subtly iridescent long locks. Switching up between bold, glittery eyeshadow and a winged, smokey look, when not sporting one of her outlandish masks, Gaga sported a glossy lip.
Bella also looked back to the decade of her birth for her awards night inspo. Bella donned a classic 90s updo and rocked some bold undereye eyeliner and a glossy lip, paired with big hoops.
J Rey Soul
J Rey Soul is the new fourth member of The Black Eyed Peas (replacing Fergie), but we’re not just here for her vocal abilities – we’re obsessed with her cut and bold, white liner!
Maluma looked flawless, pulling off a short, cool bleached look with dark eyebrows and facial hair.
Joey King took a more natural approach to her hair and makeup for the evening, opting for a simple, sleek hairdo featuring cute gold barrettes (working with hairstylist Dimitri Giannetos) and peachy, soft makeup with a pink lip (thanks to makeup artist Allan Avendaño).
Miley kept things very Miley, but as always, managed to wow us with her glam! Rocking her infamous blonde mullet, bold red lips and sharp, winged liner, Miley looked like a true rockstar beauty.
