Gateway Course

Gateway helps students to build skills for employment, working in real workplaces on real tasks. It provides opportunities to try out potential careers and build links to tertiary education environments, employment networks and modern apprenticeships. Students can achieve specific vocational skills and benefit from making significant progress towards industry recognised qualifications.

Our exciting Gateway programme will support the students with industry based learning and give them the relevant knowledge and skills needed in the salon work place.

Students attend three days delivery at the academy before commencing supervised work placement for the following ten weeks collecting evidence ready for completion of unit standards. This time is integrated with their current school programme of study.  On completion of their work placement they will attend the academy for their final assessment against Unit and/or Achievement Standards on the National Qualifications Framework (NQF).

The programme will be delivered during holiday times to minimise the impact on the students study at school.  Students have the option of weeks and Delivery days are Tuesday through to Thursday 9:30am to 3pm.
