Expert Hairdressing Tips for Winter Hair Care
Now that we’ve reached mid-July and well within the depths of winter, you may be wondering how to keep your locks safe from the harsh elements until spring eventually comes around. We sat down with the academy’s Creative Director, Alecia, and Servilles Academy Host, Bella, to gain some advice and recommendations on how to care for your hair this chilly season…
Alecia: Trends I’m seeing are beautiful glossy all over colours. Colours taking on their variation of light and depth throughout the hair. Refreshing old balayage or previous colours by adding tone, reflect and shine. We can now use Davines View (our demi permanent colour) to create this look.
Bella: Colour wise, I feel when winter comes around hair colours tend to deepen up a bit. I’m loving rich chocolate, auburn, coppery colours that have a slightly deeper root. The blondes become softer, bobs become shorter and fringes appear (because who has the patience for a fringe in summer?!). If you have long hair, I think having a beautiful colour is a must to create some interest. Having few hair accessories at hand is great for when you are in a rush.
Alecia: Treatments, treatments, treatments!
Bella: Change of season? Change of skin routine. Your scalp should be treated with as much care as your face. The NaturalTech range by Davines has the remedy for any itchy or dry scalp.
Alecia: I am totally obsessed with the OI range – so good for instant softness, shine and volume. I just love the feel, smell and it works…Who can use it? Everyone, it’s for all hair types!
Bella: A beautiful shampoo and conditioner is always a priority. Davines’ Essential Haircare range has the right pair for every hair type. From fine, flat hair to dry, unruly hair. There is something to keep everyone’s hair looking gorgeous throughout winter. As for style, you can’t go wrong with a great texture spray from the More Inside family. Add some life and texture to any hairstyle when you are on the go.
Alecia: Book yourself in to the Academy Salon!! A little midwinter pick me up will set you up to combat these cooler days, you’ll look and feel amazing.
Bella: Try something new! It doesn’t have to be a whole new style – the crazy thing about hair is that it keeps growing!!
